Why Is My Fridge Not Cooling?
A fridge that runs but does not cool is usually an airflow, seal, defrost, or fan problem, not always a dead compressor. Start with the simplest checks: door seal, temperature setting, and whether the freezer still cools. If the freezer is cold but the fridge is warm, airflow between the sections is the first suspect.

Check the seal first
Close the door on a thin piece of paper and pull gently. If it slides out easily all round, warm air is getting in, and frost can build up.
Listen for the fan
A fridge that is silent inside, or only hums, may have a fan that has stopped. No fan means cold air stays in the freezer.
Look for frost
Heavy frost on the back wall of the freezer can block airflow. Do not chip at ice with a sharp tool, it can damage coils.
When to call
If the fridge stays warm after seal and airflow checks, or food safety is at risk, call promptly and keep doors shut.
